Knitted Piece-Reform Adaptation

My latest knitted piece was developed from the
recent floods, design for disaster!
the concept was based on looking how animal's adapt
to their environment and how we can adapt to our
changing environment.
The final piece help's to communicate
to a different audience.

Nature has never looked so beautiful,
Maggie Thorssell brings nature to life
in the form of hand made jewelry pieces.
A true country girl at heart maggie uses her
home as her inspiration, collecting feathers and
rounded pebbles from her own backyard.
After studying honours at Monash uni in melbourne,
then traveling the world,
Maggie is now based back in her country home
where she has set up her little studio, she even has
cute little goats,it was awesome
to see her creative space x

ReLoved Treasures

ReLoved Treasures stall at pottsville markets

ReLoved treasures is a little recycled fashion label
that is designed and made by me and my mum,
our love for lace and vintage finds in the country op shops
developed into a hobby and so ReLoved Treasures was born.
Our cupboards where full but our love for finding
treasures continued, a markets was our outcome.
old lace curtains and crocheted tables cloths are
hand made into dresses, skirts, tops and pants.
Vintage clothing is re made into stylish designs,
and we are happy to watch our treasures go to a good home.

CLOTH workshop

As part of the Sustainability festival at brunswick,
I was lucky to be part of a workshop run by
Julie Paterson, who is the designer and the artist of
cloth fabrics based in Sydney.

The day workshop involved hand cut stencils that
we screen printed onto old coffee bags
using left over paints. The screen printed designs
where then made into cushions or bags.
